What is a Hanging Manikin?
A hanging scene requires the body, head and limbs to take up a convincing human position.
Using a live performer can require harnesses and protective equipment that alter the body shape and limit camera angles.
Our fully articulated hanging manikins allow productions to create realistic hanging body scenes without suspending a performer for the shot.
Male and female bodies are available, with different heads, proportions and weight configurations.
Child and specialist requirements are considered individually.

Why are our hanging stunt manikins so effective?
Unlike a rigid or foam-and-wire stunt dummy, a Stunt Action Manikin can be positioned naturally around the neck, shoulders, torso, arms or legs.
The joints can remain free-flowing or be positioned according to the scene. Head angle and weight distribution can also be adjusted where the manikin will be moved, lowered, recovered or handled by performers.
All suspension and rigging must be planned and supervised by the production’s suitably qualified personnel.
Preparation & Production Support
Productions can choose from different bodies, realistic interchangeable heads, wigs, costume options and armatured silicone hands and forearms.
Every enquiry is assessed individually. We will need to understand whether the body remains static, moves during the scene or forms part of a wider stunt or special-effects sequence.
Where the manikin needs to represent a particular performer, we can discuss their height, build, costume, hair and visible features. The manikins are also compatible with suitable alcohol-activated paints, theatrical blood and prosthetic wounds.
We liaise with stunt, rigging, special effects, costume, hair and make-up departments and assist with preparation, dressing, positioning and handling.
